Energy Conservation Group (ECG) invites qualified students to for either the No-Co$t Building Envelope or Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Professional Training classes (including BPI certification exams) funded by the Nevada State Energy Sector Partnership (SESP) through Workforce CONNECTIONS. Students must meet SESP and course eligibility requirements.
Take advantage of this No-Co$t opportunity to increase your performance and receive nationally recognized Building Envelope or Air Conditioning and Heat Pump training and BPI certification. BPI certifications are transferable nationally. Because of the new energy codes, many building departments and public entities across the country are requiring contractors to be BPI certified. Our classes are scheduled on weekdays, evenings, online and on weekends to accommodate your work schedule.
Employers requesting these training activities, may select one of these two classes offered at No-Co$t that supports President Obama and Governor Sandoval’s strategies for energy efficient buildings. The Nevada Real Estate Division has approved the trainers as well as ECG's curriculum for energy auditor licensing. See class schedules below.
Requirements: To be eligible to receive funding for these trainings, you must meet the following SESP requirements:
- Must be currently employed in the Energy Efficiency or Renewable Energy Industries
- Must be a Nevada resident with valid ID
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. with a social security card,
- Must provide Selective Service Registration Verification for males born after 01/01/1960
- As applicable: Lawful Permanent Resident Card, Alien Authorized to Work Card, DD-214, I-20, I-94
- 100% class attendance is required
- $200 deposit required. Refunded upon completion

2012 Class Schedule - Las Vegas, NV
Earn your BPI Building Envelope or Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Professional certification with minimal interruption to your business. These classes are scheduled around busy schedules with a combination of weekday, evenings, weekend and online sessions.
Building Envelope Professional Training Class
Duration: Six day (50 hours over two weekends) class. Course includes written and field exams for BPI Envelope Professional Certification.
July 13-15 and 20-22 (Two Weekends)
September 17-23
November 5-11
A/C & Heat Pump Professional Training Class
Duration: (42 hours over two weeks) Combination of evening, weekend and online sessions. Course includes written and field exams for BPI A/C & Heat Pump Professional Certification.
Student must be EPA 608 Level II Certified. If not BPI Building Analyst/Envelope trained or certified, Residential Energy must be read and an assessment test passed prior to the start of class.

Prerequisites for Building Envelope and A/C and Heat Pump Training:
• Complete and pass skills assessment test before start of class
• Read “Residential Energy” by Krigger and Dorsi prior to class (available after payment is received)
• EPA 608 Type II certification is required before taking the A/C and Heat Pump field exam
• Laptop computer for written exam(s)
• Basic calculator for use in class and written online exam
• Clip board, hard hat, 25’ tape measure, flashlight

Energy Conservation Group is a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Test Center, RESNET Rater and Training Provider and approved by the Nevada Real Estate Division for Nevada Energy Auditing License. ECG is focused on creating competent and capable energy auditors and building performance contractors especially in a hot dry climate. All curriculums includes extensive information that is needed to pass the BPI or RESNET exams.
